BillyandtheFid.com is about to head into new territory

As Billy and the Fid continues to work on our new album - working title of "Feshly Cut Meat," we've decided to let you, the billy and the fid consumer, peak into the process of recording this album while gaining access to rough mixes and sneak peaks at our new songs. We will be doing this through the Podcast posted at the top of this page.  Yes, both of us will be involved in the Podcast from here on out and we will include unreleased songs and "live" jams of tunes that will never be recorded.  So sorry for the wait and continue to check back often.  We'll also start posting rough mixes of new songs on our myspace account.

Billy and the Fid's picture of the moment... refresh to see another...

See more photos...

Time Keeps on slipping...

Billy and the fid have the whole slew of songs plucked and ready to boil... But alas, the fid is busy with doing radio and gettin' hitched an' all, while billy spending time cleansing his body and soul while burning his coffee on both ends.

Check back soon. We'll have a new podcast with a rough version of one of our new songs... eventually.

"Terry's Lodge" is now available

Click here to see it at CD baby.

And have you heard "Should've been the caffeine"? What about "4-Songs"? These earlier recordings show the diversity of Billy and the Fid. Buy them, while you still can!

New stuff at BillyandtheFid.com

Check out our Podcast above which is hosted by Garageband.com.

Also, I finally put together a photo album that navigates easily. Check it out here.

As always, we are in the process of arranging and recording out new tunes. If you are a musician that plays something other than guitar or bass, drop us an email at billyandthefid@yahoo.com and maybe you can be heard on the next Billy and the Fid collection of songs.

Billy and the Fid on GarageBand.com

Our latest upload, Early Mourning, is Track of the Day in the "Modern Rock" category for Sunday, Dec 3rd 2006.

We've just uploaded another tune from Terry's Lodge to Garage Band.com where other bands and what-not review your music... Its a pretty decent deal. Lots of checks and balances to insure fairness in reviews and people taking advantage of their policies. This is our 4th upload to Garageband. Billy's more edgy tunes tend to fair less well due to the pop-based nature of garageband.

Happy Holidays folks!

Oh the madness will continue with Billy and the Fid as we head into our 4th year. So much has happened since we started this little project... We've played at some crappy and great places throughout the bay area including San Francisco, Alameda, Berkeley, Oakland, Hayward and even Chico.... Anyway, we've been writing and recording our brains out and we'll have some new music up here in a few months including a new version of our infamous pot-pot pie with some special guest musicians from the poontang wranglers... We also have a salty new Sea Chanty called "Studio Sea" that will be recorded soon. So keep checking back, be sure to visit our myspace account to get updates on newly recorded and posted songs and any up n' coming shows...

Billy and Chimient?

in a conversation with video artist/ photographer/poet toney chimient of maui just a couple days ago, i began to fully resign myself to this tool. we spoke of the value of media and its role in publication, and long term effect of the ease of self-publication. this, in its own way, solidified in my mind the death of the cd.

well, the fid and i don't play out much. we have real lives and real jobs and the ratio of dedication to quality performances is moderately askew. but we know that we write damn fine songs and make damn fine recordings. so, 2+2= get billyandthefid.com, continue to record music with one another, and whomever else we may stumble across, and allow ourselves to continue to make what will most assuredly be an interesting and eclectic aural backdrop.

you will be able to find many songs here. some old favorites as well as all of our newest stuff. we will also have some offshoots here, celebrating our experience with the arts in some other forms. we hope you enjoy this site, and that you may never have to hear us perform "why don't we do it in the road" ever ever again.

November 2006 update

We're now in the process of adding some new stuff to the site. We have the new photos section which will have all sorts of random stuff plus a few photos of us creating our new demos. We're also putting more mp3s from our past albums, Should've been the caffeine, 4 Songs, & Terry's Lodge.
